Perched atop a 3,500 foot mountain with sweeping views over Chiang Mai, we visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. A working monastery where we get the chance of a lifetime to chat, meditate, and be blessed by the local Monks. It is reached by a climb of 300 steps or by tram. Legend says the temple, considered the most important in Chiang Mai, was built after a bone of Buddha was carried up the mountain on the back of a white elephant.

Located atop the Doi Suthep Mountain it offers a panoramic view of the city on clear days. Learn about the amazing history and partake in a ceremonial chant and receive a blessing by the local monk residents as the sun sets over this incredible golden temple.

Celebrate these breathtaking festivals together with our group! Yi Peng, held in Chiang Mai, sees thousands of glowing lanterns released into the night sky, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of floating lights that symbolize letting go of misfortunes and making wishes for the future.

Loi Krathong, celebrated nationwide, involves releasing beautifully decorated krathongs (floating baskets) onto rivers, symbolizing the release of negative energy and the hope for a brighter tomorrow.
